How is DW Frost in Cata?

I just received seven days of free game time from Blizzard as a way to get me to resub. I've been gone from WoW since the end of Wrath. I was DW Frost. And before I renew my sub, I'm just wondering how this spec does in BGs for PvP, and how it does for heroics in PvE, since those are the activities I like to do most. I'm pretty sure they still do good solo questing/grinding. Thanks so much for the feedback!

DW/2h Frost is great now. Does a lot of dps and is really easy to pull off. I don't pvp so I don't know anything about that.
Nevermind, a friend of mine recently got the same game time as you.

To get on topic, I DW Frost and I perform just fine.

However, I am obliged to inform you that 2H DOES tend to perform better in PvP. However DW Frost is doable.

2H:
Higher Base Weapon Stats
Harder Hitting NS
More RP Generation
More Runic Empowerment Procs due to more Frost Strikes

DW:
Room for a 2nd Runeforge/Enchant
Harder hitting damn near everything else
More White Hits
More Killing Machine Procs/Gear procs due to more White Hits

There it is in black and white for you. 2H generates more resources and therefor has much more uptime. DW hits harder and has more burst, yet it's burst is a more unstable.

2H is the safe bet for extended battles. However, DW has more damage potential, but as I said, it's a gamble.

I prefer DW myself, the general consensus of the community is that 2H Frost performs better. I advise you try both before you decide like I did.

With scent of blood 3/3 i find myself generating even more rp than Frost 2H, i can fill every GCD in UH presence.
