[:1]I haven't seen a good discussion about this, so here it goes.
I did a dummy test, and found that per hit, Rune Strike does about 1000 more damage per use, and has a lower rp cost than death coil. The question is, if in PvP, and rune Strike is available, is it a better practice to use it when in melee range than A death coil (especially since dc gives the dmg buff) Same question for Frost strike, I really don't know. It could be better, especially against rogues who like to dodge a lot.
As unholy no, because of the possible waste of runic corruption procs which stack and further buffs provided to your pet which occur after you cast every death coil, which in the end will provide more damage overall.
The combination of runic corruption and death strikes to keep me healed up even when being zerged is pretty laughable esp. after I pop (IF) to prevent me from being stunned, I don't even take pvp serious but I think its pretty op. In random bgs I top damage by a huge margin which is a result of having plenty of runes even after spamming (ds) to allow for a more pvp rotation.
Well it also can't be dodged, blocked, or parried so thats a plus.
I use it from time to time, usually whenever it procs as you usually have an insane amount of RP anyways.
Also, as of 4.2 it will scale from 18% AP rather then 15% so that's a small buff.
