So I tanked for the first time this morning.

First time I ever tanked on a Blood DK. The DK tank we had prior sucked really bad, so I decided to step up. Activated my secondary, put my points into Blood based on Zygor talent advisor, then I let instinct take over. 3 successful randoms later, I decided I'd invest my time into tanking.

What I usually do is pull a mob, DnD, Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Pestilence, Heart Strike, and Blood Tap when procced, then random abilities that aren't on CD until DnD comes up again.

Is there anything specific I should be looking for in a rotation? I know it was 3 good randoms without any problem, but as I get higher leveled on, it would be good to know any tips or what should I do as I gain more abilities.

Sorry if I didn't clarify good, English isn't my first language XD

Read the stickiez!
It really changes a lot as you get more abilities and when mastery comes into play. Rune tap as much as you can, always make sure blade barrier is up, use your death runes on DS, and use our cooldowns generously. We have lots, IBF is the only one I save for my oh-#*%! button. Bone shield is really good when used properly, although that's more a high level thing.

I may be mistaken, but most stickied guides are written around the level cap/raiding.

We need some guides about how to grow as a certain class, not just guides for engame content.

^ a guide for a starter or leveling DK tanking was something more of what I was looking for, since I don't understand most of that concept yet.
Well, first of all, get some glyphs.

Second, that's pretty much what you do to start tanking, DnD, Icy Touch, Plague strike, pestilence, tab heart strike, rune strike, Death strike/Rune Tap for heals. Blood boil when Crimson procs.
The thing is there really isn't anything to say about lower level DK tanking that isn't said in the end game guide. The lower level guide would just be the end game guide with some stuff taken out of it since it doesn't apply yet lol. The only thing that could be in a lower level guide and not an end game guide is maybe beginner tank concepts but for the most part that's stuff you really just have to learn as you go, no amount of reading takes the place of practical experience.

Basically though it sounds like you're doing just fine, just be prepared to adapt to whatever is happening as that's really the key to tanking.

Normally, I'd buy some glyphs, but I'm a new server with not that much gold, and the economy here REALLY REALLY sucks. I'll try and find someone that can make me glyphs though.
